Karen Tucker
Karen joined the Veterinary Hospital Group in 2003 as an animal nursing assistant. Having gained her certificate in animal nursing she then enrolled in the student veterinary nursing course at Bicton College in 2005, and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse (VN) in 2007.
Her main area of work is at the Veterinary Health Centre in Plympton where, apart from her normal nursing role, she enjoys training the student nurses. Her ambition is to gain her D32/33 assessor certificate, enabling her to support and assess the nurses throughout their exams and portfolio. Karen also works on our emergency
night call team and enjoys nursing the variation of both routine and emergency cases seen.
Karen has a cat called 'Charlie' whom she took on when he was brought into the vets, following a road traffic accident 5 years ago. Outside of work Karen enjoys having fun with her 2 year old son Joshua, socialising with close friends and of course shopping!
